The gender gap in STEM starts as early as 9 years old
Episode 3
Only 16% of Australian STEM professionals are women… but, why? Statistics from the Office of the Australian Chief Scientist show that that the gender gap in STEM starts as young as 9 years old, and begins with something as simple as drawing.
How can we combat the gender gap in STEM? By actively seeking out the women in STEM doing awesome work, and providing those women as diverse role models for young girls in STEM, we’ll be equipping the next generation with the knowledge that they can pursue whatever career they like.
